For the Ones Who Have Been Dismissed 💛
Endometriosis Awareness Month
Endometriosis Awareness Month is often filled with statistics, medical explanations, and awareness graphics.
Those things matter.
But today, this isn’t about education.
Today is about something simpler — and something many people living with endometriosis desperately need.
Being seen.
When the Pain Isn’t Visible
Endometriosis doesn’t just affect the body.
It slowly wears on other parts of your life too.
Your patience.
Your confidence.
Your energy.
Your trust in your own body.
When pain becomes part of your daily reality, it changes how you move through the world.
And one of the hardest parts for many people living with endometriosis isn’t just the symptoms.
It’s the dismissal.
Being told:
“It’s normal.”
“It’s probably just stress.”
“Just manage it.”
When you live with pain that other people cannot see, it can start to make you question yourself.
You might begin to shrink your experience.
You second-guess your symptoms.
You apologize for canceling plans.
You wonder if you’re being dramatic.
If You Live With Endometriosis, Hear This
You’re not dramatic.
You’re not “too sensitive.”
You’re responding exactly the way any human would respond to persistent pain and uncertainty.
Living with something unpredictable and often misunderstood is exhausting.
So if things feel different right now, that makes sense.
If your energy feels different now, that makes sense.
If intimacy feels complicated, that makes sense.
If your confidence has taken a hit, that makes sense.
If you feel exhausted or emotionally drained, that makes sense too.
There is nothing weak about adapting to survive something difficult.
In fact, it takes a tremendous amount of strength.
What You Deserve
If you’re navigating endometriosis, you deserve more than being brushed aside.
You deserve:
-
To be believed
-
To be taken seriously
-
To rest without guilt
-
To be supported
You deserve healthcare providers who listen.
You deserve conversations where your symptoms aren’t minimized.
You deserve people who acknowledge what you’re experiencing.
Most importantly:
You deserve to be seen.
If This Month Feels Heavy
Awareness months can stir up a lot of emotions.
Sometimes they bring validation.
Sometimes they reopen frustration.
If this month has been stirring something up for you, know this:
You are not alone in your experience.
And you are not imagining what your body is communicating.
Your symptoms matter.
Your voice matters.
Your experience matters.
And if no one has said it lately:
I see you. 💕
